Skegness Grammar School welcomes parents and pupils to Open Week

With students receiving their 11+ results on Saturday, Skegness Grammar School’s Open Week (16 – 20 October) will help parents, carers and their children find out more about the world-class education on offer from one of England’s oldest grammar schools.

Over the course of the week, parents and carers can receive a personal tour of the school, meet its talented and inspiring teachers and spend time with pupils.

Heather Scott, Principal at Skegness Grammar School, part of the David Ross Education Trust, said: “Our school is at the heart of our community and we want to make sure that parents, carers and pupils considering their secondary choices can experience for themselves SGS’s world-class education. We pride ourselves on school-life at SGS being a rich and rewarding one for our students and help ensure that our new students embrace the incredible education we offer.”

Alongside its open week, Skegness Grammar School is inviting Principals from local primary schools to meet their Year 6 ‘graduates’ who are now in Year 7 at SGS.  On 17 October, Principals will spend time with the school’s teachers and pupils to understand how SGS helps its Year 7 students make the most of their exciting new education.

Heather Scott said: “Our keep-in-touch meetings help local primary schools support their pupils joining us in September and they forge even closer ties between all of our schools.  It is a great way for Principals to see how the children who have grown up with them are now enjoying life at Skegness Grammar School.”
